Why these pages differ
Same metro, different kitchens
3 of these pages are coastal, where chloride in the air reaches condenser fins, hinge hardware and roof-mounted blowers. 3 cover pre-war housing stock, where the cabinet opening and the circuit behind it decide more about the repair than the appliance does. The rest are post-war to modern, and there the recurring fault is how built-in equipment was fitted at the end of a construction schedule.
Regionally we all share the weather: around 68 thunderstorm days a year, plus the multi-day outages that follow a named storm. Control boards and inverter-driven compressors record those events and often fail weeks afterwards, which is why the first question on a dead appliance is when the power last went out.

It does not. The diagnostic is flat across the whole radius and the bands below are the same in every place on this page. What varies between these twelve is which fault you are likely to be looking at, not what it comes to.

Asked before a first visit
Is the $80 diagnostic charged again if a part has to be ordered?
No. $80 is charged once; the fitting visit is the same job, and the charge is credited against the repair once you approve it. A written estimate comes before any part is ordered or fitted.
How far do you drive, and when are you open?

Do you work for Thermador?
No. Meridian Appliance Works is independent and holds no Thermador or BSH Home Appliances accreditation of any kind; the full statement is in the footer. Our one credential is EPA Section 608 certified for sealed-system refrigeration work, a federal permission rather than a manufacturer endorsement.
Do you service heating, air conditioning or ductwork?
No. Built-in kitchen appliances are the whole business: ovens, cooktops, rangetops, ranges, refrigeration and wine columns, dishwashers and the ventilation over the cooking surface. Furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers, mini-splits and duct runs belong to a licensed HVAC contractor, and we are not one.
What a call-out here is for, and what it is not
Meridian Appliance Works opens built-in kitchen appliances, and that is the whole list: Thermador wall ovens, steam ovens and speed ovens, professional ranges, gas rangetops, induction cooktops, refrigerator, freezer and wine columns, dishwashers, and the ventilation hung over the cooking surface.
We do not service heating, air conditioning or ductwork. No furnaces, no heat pumps, no air handlers, no mini-splits, no duct cleaning and no duct replacement — not as a sideline, and not handed to a partner firm. A house that will not warm up or will not cool down is a licensed HVAC contractor's job, and we say so on the telephone instead of booking a visit we could not finish.
The two trades share some vocabulary and nothing else. A range hood has a duct above it. A refrigeration column has a sealed system, a condenser and a condenser fan, and the ambient of the room around it — air-conditioned or not — is what that condenser has to reject heat into. All of that is appliance work, and it is where EPA Section 608 applies: it permits us to open a sealed refrigeration circuit, not to touch the building's own heating and cooling plant.
What to tell us when you book
Four things decide how long a visit takes, and all four are known before we arrive.
Model and serial
Read from the data plate rather than the sales receipt. The serial number decides which variant of a part fits, so it is the difference between one visit and two.
Access
Whether a column is panelled and can come forward on its rails, whether the floor in front of it is engineered timber or soft stone, and where the water shut-off is.
Power history
Any outage, surge or breaker trip in the weeks before the fault, and whether other appliances on the same circuit behaved oddly at the same time.
Gate and approach
Several communities here are gated or have managed access, and some houses have long private approaches. Arranging that at booking saves a call at the gate.

Independent, and saying so plainly
Meridian Appliance Works is an independent service company. We name Thermador only to say which appliances we work on: built-in equipment from Thermador and the rest of the BSH Home Appliances line, diagnosed and repaired by our own technicians using genuine OEM parts.
- EPA Section 608 certified for sealed-system refrigeration work. That is a federal requirement to open a sealed refrigeration system, and it is the only certification we hold out.
- Licensed and insured in the State of Florida.
- Parts come through the same BSH Home Appliances distribution channel that serves Bosch and Gaggenau, which is why lead times on a Thermador part behave the way they do.
